Most losses begin before the order is placed. Validation protects you from low-quality entries.
Pre-entry validation framework
Structure
- Is market structure supporting your idea?
- Is there space to target before resistance/support?
Trigger
- Did price confirm at your planned zone?
- Is trigger candle quality acceptable?
Risk
- Is stop placement logical and predefined?
- Is position size within policy?
Behavior
- Are you entering from plan or fear of missing out?
- Are you reacting to P&L instead of setup quality?
If any section fails, skip the trade. Selectivity is an edge.
Sample scorecard
| Section | Score (0-2) |
|---|---|
